emerald

Emerald has been the most sought-after green colored stone since the age of the Egyptians. The name emerald is derived from the Greek and means "green stone". Emeralds almost always have small to medium-sized inclusions - these inclusions are called "Jardin", which comes from the French and means "garden". Emeralds that are free of inclusions are extremely rare and fetch prices that are well above those of comparable white diamonds .
